Although “Mokuti” is the Himba word for “in the bush”, the 5-star Mokuti Lodge which borders on Namibia’s Etosha National Park is anything but roughing it. Excellent service and quality added to a stylish and elegant interior make the Mokuti Lodge an obvious choice for travellers to the Etosha National Park and surrounding areas.
Less than a kilometre from the Etosha National Park's eastern gate.
The 8 Etosha Suites and 98 guest rooms are all en suite, air-conditioned, and equipped with minibar, safe, tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, telephone and satellite TV. Mokuti Lodge also offers swimming pools, two floodlit tennis courts, a billiard room with two tables and a spa/gym overlooking a waterhole (for when you get bored with your session on the treadmill…). The Mokuti Lodge houses a Reptile Park where you can learn more of Namibia’s snakes and reptiles, and a number of walking trails makes it possible to explore the surrounding veld on foot. You can also join a guided mountain bike tour – fortunately the area around the Mokuti Lodge is quite flat.
Other facilities making the Mokuti Lodge one of the best in Namibia, include an play area for children, library, curio shop, petrol station, craft market, room service, laundry service, babysitting, wireless internet access and even a private airstrip.
The cuisine offered at the Mokuti Lodge is varied and exciting. The Boma restaurant offers African fare, while the Tambuti Restaurant serves international buffets, an a la carte menu and “live cooking”. If you want to indulge in local specialities under the stars, try the two bush venues at Mokuti Lodge, Olupale and Obambo. The Pool Bar and Marula Bar offer a range of snacks and tantalizing drinks.
The Mokuti Lodge provides ample opportunity for scheduled and private game drives (morning and afternoon) into the neighbouring Etosha National Park. You can also view game from a viewing platform at the lodge.
