The friendly staff of the Tautona Lodge are waiting for you to join them and enjoy a welcome rest after a long day in the Kalahari sun. If you need only a stopover or you would like to stay for a day or two, this lodge, on a private game reserve, close to the town of Ghanzi, offers a very relaxed atmosphere where you can view wildlife like giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, oryx, ostrich as well as a huge variety of birds. Amenities at the lodge include an a’la carte restaurant, swimming pool, bar and more.
The Tautona Lodge can be found 5km from Ghanzi just off the A3 highway. Follow the clearly marked signs. It is only 4 km gravel road to reach your destination.
The lodge is 280km from Maun and 530km from Windhoek. From Nkwe you would need a 4x4 vehicle. There is also an airstrip if you should need to make use of transfers by light aircraft. GPS Coordinates are -21.704528 and 21.701807.
The types of accommodation on offer at Tautona Lodge are 5 x Family Chalets, 9 x Mini Chalets, 4 x Double/Twin Chalets, 18 Standard Hotel rooms and 4 x Meru tents. There is also an excellent camping ground.
You can explore your surroundings by being led by the gentle San People. Allow the San People to entertain you with their traditional dancing. They will also share their knowledge of tracking. You can be treated to Spa treatments, explore the surroundings or visit the “vulture restaurant” at Ghanzi where you will be taught the importance of vultures in the eco system.
