The charmingly old-fashioned exterior of Elegant Desert Lodge welcomes you to a refreshing oasis in the desert landscape just south of Sossusvlei. A sparkling swimming pool and huge garden invite you to sit back and relax with a refreshing drink from the bar.
The interior of the lodge and the rooms are elegant and modern, and the hospitality is warm. Two waterholes attract a variety of game to the lodge. You can sit in the restaurant and watch the game activity while you enjoy an excellent meal, or you can watch game at the waterhole that is close to the rooms. In the evening there is an outdoor fire pit where you can sit out under the stars and admire the African night sky.
A library, the Lapa Restaurant, excellent activities and complimentary Wifi complete the picture and ensure a relaxed and unforgettable stay.
The Elegant Desert Lodge is situated on the D854 less than 40 km from the gate of the Naukluft National Park. In the early morning or late afternoon, when the light for photography is at it’s very best, it is easy to organize a trip to the magnificent and world-renown dunes of Sossusvlei and Sesriem. There is also a landing strip close by for those that would like to fly in.
There are 29 elegantly furnished en-suite rooms. 19 of the rooms are double rooms and there are also family rooms and single rooms. There is a coffee and tea station in each room. The rooms are all near a waterhole where you might spot game as you stroll to the Lapa restaurant or pool.
